2007

Photos taken in 2007.

Marwell Zoo challenge.

21st April 2007

Another challenge, this time at Marwell Zoo. I got some great shots, not least of the Snow Leopard who was right against the glass giving me opportunities to take shots with my macro lens. If anyone wants a desktop version of these, let me know as the quality is awesome, even when pixel peeping.

My first attempt at proper photoshop and curves.

Beaulieu 2 hour challenge.

11th March 2007

Another Hursley Photography Club 2 hour challenge. This one took place around the Beaulieu area and contains quite a lot of variety.

Total lunar eclipse.

4th March 2007

A couple of hours spent in the countryside with a very patient and tired fiancee, and in the end the photo I wanted came out a bit pants. The remainder though are really good, moonlight scenes and trails.

New camera - Pentax ME Super, 28mm 50mm & 75-150mm lenses

14th Feb 2007

I finally went ahead and bought a retro manual focus SLR. Primarily for landscape work with it's 28mm lens, but also as something smaller and more subtle for shooting candids with. I will be a learning experience to shoot with it, but it will be nice to be slowed down and less snap happy sometimes. It came from ebay, and seems very well cared for, the lenses all have skylight filters on, there are lots of accessories including a reversing ring and 2 flashes, and even the manual is in fine condition.

These photos are from a cheap Kodak film which I got from truprint for 75p. I went for a walk from Leeannes parents to the church to test the camera out. It all works brilliantly. My photos are a little uninspiring though, but that will change now that I'm confident the camera works.

Winchester 2 hour challenge.

4th Feb 2007

The first of a series of challenges with the Hursley Photography Club. This took place around Winchester and I decided to taket the opportunity to use my film camera. I was very disappointed with the grainyness of the results though.

The London Eye by Twilight

26th Jan 2007

After seeing some photos by Mark Sabanathan, I decided to take some myself. The London Eye is an awesome place, but at sunset and twilight, it's even more beautiful.

Southampton by Night

16th Jan 2007

With the backup of a few people from the newly formed Hursley photography club, I braved a cold wet southampton night to take something different. What I wasn't expecting was being thrown off west quay's car park, and nearly getting hassled by the police later on.
