I'd love to. It would be great for holding my satnav in place. I have a windscreen suction pad, but the inside of the screen is usually dusty, so it doesn't stay attached for long. As a result I normally just rest the satnav on top of the dash, touching the windscreen. I can imagine a sticky pad would really help here. Send me a sample and I'll put a review up.

Hi Richard - great blog, keep up the good work :)

I noticed that you were into offroading and wondered if you might fancy reviewing an product of ours for your site? It's actually a StayStuck Pad for the car, designed to keep phones, mp3 players, keys etc stuck to the dashboard without sliding about. I thought a really bumpy, offroad track would be the best place to test its capabilities. I'd be happy to send you out a free sample of the product in order for you to review it if you were interested!

Or if you fancied doing a comparison, we could also send you out a Magnetic Mounter for the car to see which held up best under extreme conditions

Looking forward to hearing from you
All the best

"Plugging," in printer terms, means putting down too much ink and so losing the details. The term also applies to digital images, although the mechanics of it are obviously rather different. :)

If you can honestly compare the blacks in those photos and say you can't see any difference then I guess it's not a problem.

Thinking again, perhaps you mean that the photos are too contrasty. The scans are quite accurate, kodachrome is a very saturated and contrasty film, and the blacks do come out very black.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'plugging'. The blacks are coming out black now, rather than a washed out grey, and I can't see that any detail has been lost. Compare the old scanner photos, and you can't see any detail there either.

You don't think the new scanner is rather plugging the blacks?
